The Maiden's Bowled Over event is all about the interaction between businesswomen, while enjoying the gentleman's game of Test Cricket. The concept of a Ladies Day was initiated eight years ago and the event has grown from 120 to 400 ladies. The most recent event was the 4th Test cricket match played between South Africa and England at SuperSport Park on 22 January 2016.
The guests dress in white in honour of the traditional dress code of Test cricket, and are entertained at the garden party setting on the grass embankments. This unique day is an excellent, value added marketing and advertising opportunity for the discerning partner. Print coverage is assured prior and at the premier event, and the astute partner will be afforded the opportunity to maximize brand exposure inside the Maiden's Garden.
Through these hospitality events, the Ladies are afforded an opportunity to network, unwind and be spoilt whilst enjoying the game of cricket!
This year we took style to the next level. From getting spoiled with a glass of Mumm champgane on arrival and being serenaded live by the fantastic Jacques Lagess, to the delicious gourmet snacks and light meals. As our guests have become accustomed to, they were treated with only the best; and as usual the ladies had an absolute ball.
Nobody went home empty handed as the by-now-famous Maidens Goodie Bags were in liberal supply, bringing many wonderful delights. There were fantastic prizes among other a phone from htc and a bar fridge from ABI. Wine maker Ben Momberg from Middelvlei was in attendance and had the ladies in stitches with his antics. Veteran MC Masechaba Ndlovu made sure the program ran smoothly and we even had a visit from some of the Miss South Africa finalists!
In 2014 it was about the good things in life - a bottomless sushi bar, the most divine non-alcoholic smoothies from Soh-Bar and amazing coffee from the Miele stand and cofee bar. Wines from Van Loveren graced our tables and Stone Cradle provided delicious snacks.
A bevy of beauties in the form of the Miss South Africa finalists brought their style and grace to the event and as usual the ladies enjoyed their own beautification with an enormous nail bar and hair make overs. Spa de la Veille provided the spa treatment to the ladies' delight.
Caltrate was once again the title sponsor for the event in 2013 and again the whole event took on a pink hue with flowers, hats and dresses. Masechaba Ndlovu and Edith Venter were our mistresses of ceremonies. The ladies were transported in style from the parking area to the event by limousine and received with a glass of pink bubbly. The legendary goodie bags came in pink or white bags and were loaded with glamourous gifts. The ladies were spoiled with massages from therapists from Spa de la Veille en could have their nails done while watching the cricket.
The ladies supported the cricketers in full force and what a site to see such a lovely group of women dressed in pink and white waving flags and cheering! After the game, there was a visit from two of cricketers and the ladies snapped up the opportunity to have their photos taken with the sportsmen.
In 2011 Caltrate was the title sponsor for the event. Caltrate's main brand colour is pink and thus the whole event took on a pink flavour and ladies were requested to dress in white but add an accent in pink. Masechaba Ndlovu was our mistress of ceremonies.
In 2010 our title sponsor was Castle and red was the colour added to accent the event. The red marquee certainly caught the eye on the embankment and the ladies looked lovely in their red hats!
Maidens Bowled Over kicks off with a bang in 2009. Our first title sponsor is Castle.
